How to Watch Gossip Girl Reboot in Australia

The much-awaited reboot of the popular teen drama, Gossip Girl, is finally here. A continuation of the original series, the new one explores a new Upper East Side substantially changed by social media with bolder characters and exploratory new themes.

The 2021 reboot of the show that catapulted stars Blake Lively and Leighton Meester to fame promises to offer riveting upgrades in the drama, fashion, and scandal department with a diversified cast and themes, as well as a new Upper East Side while staying true to the tone of Cecily von Ziegesar’s novels.

Don’t miss the premiere of Gossip Girl in Australia same time as the US, happening on Thursday, July 8 on BINGE. You can also stream new episodes on Foxtel, Foxtel Now, or Foxtel from Telstra.

What is Gossip Girl Reboot about?

Social media has since changed the landscape of New York’s privileged Upper East Side. Even when Serena van Woodsen and Blair Waldorf were running the show, fans knew the Manhattan scene where the wealthy navigated life and love was intense and unforgiving. You can expect the new Gossip Girl to push the envelope even further.

The reboot is set eight years after Gossip Girl’s website went dark, this time keeping an eye on a new generation of New York private schoolers whose privilege makes them targets of social scrutiny, which the earlier generation had also experienced.

Who stars in Gossip Girl Reboot?

Gossip Girl 2021 introduces a new cast that includes Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak, and Savannah Lee Smith. Fans of the original series will be pleased to know that Kristen Bell returns as the voice of the omniscient blogger, Gossip Girl, alongside her glorious XOXO moments.

Is Gossip Girl Reboot any good?

Gossip Girl creator Joshua Safran promises inclusivity in this reboot, which he has already partly delivered with a diverse cast. His aim is to offer more representation, something that was missing in the first series. It is also slated to feature more adult content than The CW original courtesy of HBO Max’s less strict standards. Of course, the 2021 reboot is a timely narrative of today’s youth as they chase stardom, influence, and even acceptance via social media.

How to watch Gossip Girl Reboot?

In Australia, you can watch the premiere of the Gossip Girl Reboot on BINGE, same time as its premiere in the US. Even better, you can stream Gossip Girl for free with BINGE’s 14-day trial. BINGE is also the home of other HBO shows like The Undoing, Euphoria, Game of Thrones, and many more.

Watch Gossip Girl Reboot on Foxtel

Another option would be to watch the Gossip Girl Reboot on Foxtel. It will premiere on FOX8 on July 8, Thursday at 8:30 pm. FOX8 is part of the Foxtel Plus bundle, along with over 50 other entertainment channels like FOX SHOWCASE, FOX ONE, BBC First, and so on.

Watch Gossip Girl Reboot on Foxtel Now

For streaming on the go, FOX8 is also part of Foxtel Now’s Essentials Pack, which you can try for free along with other premium packs (Sports, Movies, Kids, and Docos) with a 10-day trial.

Watch Gossip Girl Reboot on Foxtel from Telstra

Telstra customers can easily add Foxtel packages to their home internet plan. The Foxtel Plus bundle is Foxtel’s standard entertainment package and that already includes FOX8 so you can watch the premiere of the new Gossip Girl in Australia.

Primetime Emmy Award-winning actress Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek) leads the new dark comedy series, Kevin Can F* Himself, available for streaming on Amazon Prime starting next month.

Murphy plays Allison McRoberts, a smart and beautiful woman who stars in a sitcom with Kevin, her man-child self-centered husband. Being a sitcom wife, she’s stereotyped as one with no opportunity to explore other versions of herself. After coming across a dark discovery, she does everything in her power and more to break free from her restricted existence with the help of her neighbour, Patty.

Kevin Can F* Himself features a blend of genres, alternating between multi-camera sitcom and single-camera drama. Armed with powerful social commentary, the series explores the undertones of gender roles in American family sitcoms. Murphy’s noteworthy performance as the prototypical Sitcom Wife is also one of its main highlights. The show’s title is an allusion to the sitcom Kevin Can Wait.

Eric Petersen, Mary Hollis Inboden, Alex Bonifer, Raymond Lee, and Brian Howe are also part of the main cast. Kevin Can F* Himself will consist of eight episodes, which will be all available for streaming in August.
