NRL Round 3: Roosters vs Rabbitohs

The Rabbitohs are 0-2 heading into Round 3 after losses to the Broncos and Storm, the latter of which produced one of the most odd final 10 minutes of any game this season. Meanwhile, the Roosters avenged their Round 1 setback to the Knights by defeating Manly last week. The Souths have won the last three games between the two teams, including two by more than 40 points.

The news continues to dominate the free to air landscape last night, still with Channel 7 again topping the charts with 986,000 viewers. Nine News then follows at second place, just 1000 viewers away from top 1. Seven News’ 6.30 program took third place, and closely following again at the fourth place was Nine News’ 6.30 program. still came in and their news program at 6.30 came in second. Masterchef Australia from Network 10 which airs on Thursdays, came in at 7th place, with 652,000 viewers. Making it to the list, but in 10th place is 7.30-EV from ABC TV.

Coming in at first place of the list for subscription TV is Fox League’s Live: NRL: Dragons V Broncos. At second place is word-famous kids cartoon, Peppa Pig from Nick Jr. Peta Credlin’s podast show from Sky News still makes it to the list at number 9, with 69,000 fans. Discovery Channel’s Gold Rush closes the list at the tenth spot, with 67,000 viewers.

For the third night in a row, Channel 7 topped the TV ratings with over a million viewers tuning in. However Channel 9 was hot on their heals, only having 37,000 less viewers as they topped the million viewers mark. Travel Guides finished in fifth spot from the Nine Network while Big Brother came in ninth with 653,000 fans tuning into the reality TV show.

Subscription TV saw popular kids show Bluey take out top spot. It is the second night in a row in which a children’s program has topped the list. Peppa Pig Tuesday night and now Bluey last night. Mr Inbetween from Fox Showcase amassed 60,000 viewers last night. Gerard and Robbo from AFL 360 came in just behind with 57,000 viewers tuning in.

It was has been back-to-back great ratings for Channel 7. Last night over two million people tuned in to view the news and then the news at 6:30. The news dominated the top four spots on the viewership table for the second straight night, while Celebrity Apprentice topped the reality TV viewing again with 758,000 fans tuning in to the show.

Top 20 TV ratings for Subscription TV programs

Subscription TV saw popular kids show Peppa Pig top the ratings last night with a whopping 80,000 viewers tuning in to her next adventure. Sports show AFL 360 came in fifth on the ratings table with 64,000 people watching Gerard and Robbo do their thing. Mr. Inbetween held seven of the 20 spots on the table as its popularity continues to grow.
