Best Shows to Watch on Foxtel in December

It’s the last month of 2020 and Foxtel’s bringing in their A-game with the lineup of shows and movies to watch for December.

Unarguably, this has not been the best year for anyone but we shouldn’t let that fact stop us from having a good time from time to time. That said, we’ve handpicked these new shows dropping in December that you would surely love watching. Check them all out as they air throughout this last month of 2020 only on Foxtel.

Best New Drama Series

The Third Day

The Third Day

Starring Jude Law and Naomie Harris, The Third Day is a dark and intriguing six-part limited series that goes into the unnerving story of a British island clouted by mythology, which then ensnares two mainlanders. The series is divided into 2 parts: “Summer,” which sees Sam (Law) rescuing a troubled young girl and then accompanies her home to the otherworldly and mysterious Osea Island. The second part is “Winter,” which follows Helen (Harris), a strong-willed outsider who arrives on the same island on the hunt for answers. 

All of the six episodes of The Third Day will drop on FOX SHOWCASE on December 7.

Small Axe

Steve McQueen’s anthology is also coming to Foxtel in December. It consists of five movies-turned-episodes, each of which narrates a powerful story of London’s West Indian community, whose lives were shaped by the power of their will amidst immense racism and discrimination within the society. 

Small Axe will drop on December 19 on Foxtel.

I May Destroy You

I May Destroy You

I May Destroy You follows Arabella, a Twitter-personality-turned-novelist who found fame with her debut book, Chronicles of a Fed-Up Millennial. She became a celebrated Millennial icon and have since been focusing on continuing her success as a writer. In the middle of finishing up her second book, she takes a break to meet up with friends for a night out in London. She wakes up the next morning struggling to remember what happened to her, but slowly recalls the events of the night and unraveling the trauma she endured after her drink was spiked.

The first episode of I May Destroy You will premiere on FOX SHOWCASE on December 4.

Best Returning Series

Euphoria

Euphoria

Euphoria will return for a special two-part episode extension of season 1, which would serve as a bridge going into the second season. Not a lot has been said about what the plot of these episodes would revolve around, but just getting a dose of this award-winning series should be more than enough to tide fans over the delay of season 2.

The two-part special of Euphoria will drop on FOX SHOWCASE on December 7.

Colin Quinn & Friends: A Parking Lot Comedy Show

This unique stand-up special brings together a group of comedians at a Brooklyn drive-in movie theatre for a much-needed evening of fun and laughs — social distancing observed. It features performances from Colin Quinn, Rich Vos, Rachel Feinstein, Sam Jay, Bonnie McFarlane, Keith Robinson, Chris DiStefano, Marina Franklin, Dan Soder, and Bobby Kelly.

This comedy special airs on December 19.

There’s a whole lot to unpack with each of the lives of these housewives, especially with the pandemic and all.

The 13th season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta premieres on December 7 on FOX ARENA.

90 Day Fiance: The Other Way

It’s time to find out if love truly has no bounds as the new season of this 90 Day Fiancé spinoff returns for its second season. In this format, it’s the American who’s giving up everything to fly across the globe to be with the person they love. This season will see two of last season’s pairs still trying to make it work amidst different cultures, and will be joined by four new hopeful couples taking the plunge all in the name of love.

It wasn’t until police grew suspicious and asked about Margaret’s whereabouts where it was exposed that she had been missing for 16 years, with Cairney and Jones accused of killing her and claiming her benefits in her name. This doco sheds a light in bringing the two suspects to trial, as well as the work that goes into defending them.

The Disappearance of Margaret Fleming drops on December 12 on Foxtel.

Nevada physician, Dr. Quincy Fortier, has been the go-to doctor of many women for gynecological and obstetric care. He has gained a reputation for being able to help women get pregnant where other doctors have failed. The catch? He’s managed to do this by injecting the women with his own sperm without their consent or knowledge. This documentary focuses on the lives of the children he has fathered and the innocent women who are trying to come to terms with the real father of their kids.
