All Eyes on McGregor As He Takes On Poirier Once Again — Stream Live on Kayo

Conor McGregor returns to the cage after a year of hiatus since his last fight with Donald Cerrone in January 2020, where the former won with a 40-second TKO over the latter. This time around, McGregor takes on Dustin Poirier once again for UFC 257 this coming Sunday, 24 January. The event will be streamed LIVE on Main Event, which is available on both Foxtel and Kayo Sports.

McGregor and Poirier last faced off back in 2014. It only took McGregor a minute and 46 seconds to knock out his American competitor. Since then, however, Poirier has won 10 fights against some of the best in UFC, while McGregor — as we all know — went on to earn his titles in two weight divisions simultaneously, making him the first-ever UFC fighter to do so.

How to Watch UFC 257 on Kayo Main Event

Good news is, you won’t need a Kayo subscription to be able to stream this fight. Both subscribers and those who wish to watch the fight alone can catch this on pay-per-view for only $54.95 via Main Event on Kayo starting Wednesday, 20 January.

Those who order this pay-per-view event via Main Event on Kayo will get access to watch the event LIVE and on-demand for 48 hours. Non-Kayo subscribers will also be given complimentary access to Kayo’s extensive library of sports broadcasts and other related shows until February 4 as part of their purchase.

These fighters are without doubt two of boxing’s greatest. Mike Tyson (now 54 years old) is still the youngest fighter ever to win a Heavyweight World title, a feat he achieved at the tender age of 20.

He reigned supreme as undisputed champ for three years between 1987 and 1990, renowned for his brutal over-the-top right hand.

Roy Jones Jr, now 51 years old, was an altogether different man in and out of the ring, but no less ruthless.

He won world titles at three different weights (Middleweight, Super Middleweight, Light Heavyweight) and even has an Olympic Silver Medal to his name. He is easily considered one of the best boxers to have graced the squared circle.

You can access Main Event for this fight through either Foxtel and Kayo Sports. Foxtel subscribers just need to select the Main Event channel on the Foxtel TV listings and purchase the fight, which will be added to your monthly billing.

Tyson v Jones Jr Rules

As this fight takes place in California it needed to be passed by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC). They agreed that the fight could take place as long as it was over 8×2 minute rounds.

The fight has been sold as an exhibition contest, however, no head protection will be worn and both fighters will wear 12oz gloves, the same weight they would have worn in their respective heydays.

But anyone expecting these two to step around the ring in an elaborate sparring session should think again. They will go at it – and go at it hard.

Stan To Show Grand Slam Tennis Live in 2021

Stan announced today that from 2021 they will have exclusive broadcast rights for both Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

Looks like the Australian streaming service is hot on the heels of Amazon, taking their first steps into major live sports. This comes just days after Stan also announced that they have the exclusive rights to the 2021 edition of Super Rugby AU, as well as The Rugby Championship.

Having arguably the two most prestigious Grand Slam tournaments on their roster is sure to open Stan up to a wider audience. It will also be the first time that a streaming service that usually deals in only movies and films has attempted to pull off live sport.

Stan will show every minute of both events live and on-demand. What’s even more impressive is the fact that their coverage will be ad-free, which is great news for tennis purists.

If it works it could be a sign of things to come. Amazon is already trialling live soccer and rugby in Europe, and there is talk that Netflix could follow suit next year.

Stan is probably better placed than most to make the leap into live sport thanks to their parent company, Nine, who have been a major play in free to air sports for decades..

You can watch live coverage of Roland Garros (French Open) from May 24th, 2021 with coverage of Wimbledon getting underway from June 28th, 2021.
